Background
Miki English is a mixed media artist who lives on a small farm in the Huntsville, AL area of the U.S. Miki is a self-taught artist with a professional background in small business and digital design. She works in primarily in acrylic, watercolor and digital mediums and enjoys mixing the three in new ways.

In 2006, Miki took an extended break from painting to pursue a business interest. She returned to painting in 2018 with ‘Gossip’ in acrylic and a growing collection of mixed media prints and surface pattern designs. Since then, she has steadily built an eclectic body of work mixing watercolor, acrylic and digital design.
Miki has been working in digital design since 1999 and started painting in acrylic in 2003. She exhibited her first acrylic work “Morning Light Mermaid” at the Panama City Beach ‘Mermaids’ exhibit in 2004 and her ‘Jazz Sax Player’ was chosen as the St Andrew Bay Jazz Festival official artwork in 2005.
In 2020, Miki created Art Envy Cafe.com as a platform to sell her own artwork and to support and represent other emerging artists.

A Personal Note
In my mind, an artful life is so much more than being a creative person. It’s about discovering our core, replacing the hidden uglies with hope, and learning to experience joy in our authentic uniqueness.

Living authentically, is an art unto itself. It’s a challenge to admit who we really are and to be brave enough to put that person into the world everyday. An artful life is one that shows up every day- authentic, with grace and dignity.
I believe that every life has the potential to be an original work of art. Beautiful, even in its worst moments. I believe it’s our responsibility to build our life into a meaningful legacy- one brush stroke at a time.
In the end, it’s not about what we collect, who we know or how many followers we have. Our true legacy is how we made others feel and how we’ve impacted their journey. That’s an Artful Life.
One of my favorite truths of all time was put into the world by Maya Angelou:
